What is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga therapy is practiced in small groups or in individual settings. It addresses physical abilities, current health conditions, injuries, and personal goals.

The International Association of Yoga Therapy (IAYT) defines Yoga Therapy as "the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and wellbeing through the application of the teachings and practices of yoga" (Educational Standards for the Training of Yoga Therapists, July 2012). If you would appreciate more resources and information about Yoga therapy, visit www.iayt.org.

“Yoga Therapy draws from a wealth of therapeutic techniques that address current signs and symptoms while simultaneously recognizing the wholeness of one’s unique makeup. It supports the path toward, and maintenance of, health and wellbeing by addressing all aspects of our lives.” - Marina Prein
